What does "bumped" mean?
When you save a link or image to your mind, you may occasionally notice the message "Bumped!" appear on your screen.
When you save a link, your mind will check to see if you've saved it before. If you've already saved it, mymind will "bump" the card that was already in your mind to the very top, instead of adding duplicates.
Bumping cards with new notes and tags
Note that if you save the same link but with extra metadata attached, the bumped card will now include the new metadata according to these rules:
- Tags: If you save the same link with some new tags attached, the tags will be added to the bumped card.
- Mind notes: If you save a duplicate link and add a mind note, and there is no mind note already on the existing card, the mind note will be added to the existing card. If there is a pre-existing mind note on the card, then the new mind note will not be added (else it would overwrite the existing mind note).
Editing notes
Notes (as well as similar card types like todos, highlights, and snippets, will be bumped to the top of your mind anytime you edit the card.
